FOSO (Fibre Optic Symphonic Orchestra)
Log Bridge Road Wentworth NSW 2648
Outback lights, symphonic nights
As the sun sets and the stars appear, light begins to glow across a vast open plain. Eighty illuminated Hills Hoists form a glowing orchestral pit, each representing an instrument in a luminous open-air symphony. The sound builds around you. The light responds. You don’t watch from a distance — you stand inside it.
Created by British-Australian artist Bruce Munro — the artist behind Field of Light at Uluru. With an original score by Emmy Award-winning composer Nainita Desai, ancient sandhills on the horizon and an epic night sky overhead — FOSO is one of Australia’s most spectacular settings for art, sound and light.
Trail of Lights
FOSO is one half of a larger journey. Trail of Lights on Lock Island, Mildura, is Bruce Munro’s first installation in the region. A contemplative after-dark walk where 12,500 firefly lights and Gone Fishing sculptures illuminate the natural landscape.
