Fruit Fly Information
Over 9,000 hectares of vineyards, citrus blocks and vegetable farms cover the Wentworth region, producing tonnes of fresh produce each year. Local residents and governments work hard to ensure that the production of this produce is protected and in some cases, ready for overseas export. One of the biggest threats to this fruit is fruit fly.
We are currently under no restrictions regarding fruit fly, and you are welcome to bring in your own fruits and vegetable. We do recommend remaining cautious and always checking conditions before travelling.
If you are travelling into South Australia you will need to dispose of all fresh fruits and vegetables before entering the state, there is a quarantine check point at the border along the Sturt Highway on the Victorian/South Australian border and along the New South Wales/South Australian border at Cockburn.
Please Note: We advise checking with state quarantine conditions as restrictions can change.
